The FAST Standard

When spreadsheets first appeared on the market, users had to make up their own minds about how to apply them to their individual business requirements. Over the years, best practice techniques have been modified and refined by experts across the full spectrum of industries. The FAST Modelling Standard has combined these various sources of expertise to formulate guidelines for an approach to spreadsheet modelling that is flexible, appropriate, structured and transparent.

Along with other professionals, we have added our many years of spreadsheet engineering experience to the FAST Modelling Standard. The resulting open document sets out a number of recommendations for working effectively with spreadsheets; it has created a shared language that is now employed on a global scale and is highly rated by academic researchers. All our spreadsheet models comply with FAST.
