FAST Fundamentals

This course is ideal if you would like to master a rigorous, structured and transparent approach to modelling in Excel using the FAST Standard.

It will help you make connections between individual clauses in the FAST Standard and apply your knowledge to practical modelling challenges. You will learn that the FAST Standard is far greater than the sum of its parts and that it provides a best practice approach to designing and constructing financial models.

Course content includes additional videos and – more important – assessments for you to undertake so as to answer the question: “Am I ready to move on?”. You may also find these assessments helpful if you are contemplating taking the FAST Standard Organisation’s Level 1 Certificate.

As I am comparing the 31 days to better financial modelling course with this one - I can say I liked the latter more in terms of construction. In terms of scope this course included case studies which is a great advantage as I could explore how all I have learned can be applied to real world situations. The element I think could be improved for both courses - are the short assessments. Despite the score achived was enough to pass the lack of immediate feedback or answers was disappointing as I was not able to check my test. I have learned a lot from both courses and I have managed to apply the new knowledge and skills in the practical contexts of my work.Thank you you very much for the courses!!!

Introduction to modelling was good, especially helpful short-cuts. Assignments in my opinion far too complicated to start with. Very, very difficult to understand what needs to be done and impossible to follow the video and simultaneously trying to copy the tasks.

The format is appropriate. The visuals with the detailed explanations, along with the command inputs shown provide solid foundation for further development of the skills. The accent on muscular memory is a must. With the respective motivation provided. For me very useful are the personal comments and experiense. E.g. "don't let a fool or child see a job half done".

Now I understand how to build time sheets, why flags are needed and how to build balances. Given numerous blocks my models look complicated, but I look forward to start a Modelling Financial Statements course to optimize my model engineering skills.
