We are pleased to confirm our presence in the Gulf with a team based in Dubai. Our full range of services will be available across the region: training, model build, and model review / risk management.

Omar Shaker

The Dubai office will be led by Omar Shaker who has recently joined our senior team.

Omar began his career with F1F9 in 2005 and went on to join the Royal Bank of Scotland (London), Standard Bank (London) and Standard Chartered Bank (Dubai).  He has worked on some of the largest transactions across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe with aggregate value in excess of USD 20bn, specialising in infrastructure, PFI / PPP, natural resources and oil and gas (including petrochemicals).

Fluent in Arabic and English, Omar is ideally placed to represent F1F9 in the GCC region – and looking forward to delivering our services further afield in Africa and Asia.

Omar is working with some of the region’s largest organisations across our training, model buildmodel review and support services. As with all in F1F9, he works with a carefully selected set of standardised approaches and good practice techniques.

“Even as a senior banker, I never lost my interest in the critical role of the financial model. I know exactly what it should and shouldn’t do to support the requirements of a project and its key stakeholders.”

And Omar will also be leading the teaching of our in-house and open training courses in Dubai.

“Professionals in the region are increasingly seeing financial modelling as a critical must-have skill, always in high demand by the organisations they work for or potential future employers. And while F1F9’s financial modelling courses are consistent regardless of where they are taught, I bring my own particular knowledge of the region to help course participants acquire the skills and expertise they need most.”
